ABOUT US

Broadway Baptist church has been at the heart of Chesham for well over 300 years, and is an active town centre church seeking to serve the local community. Our Sunday worship service is at 10:30am each week, but there's a lot more going on in and around the church throughout the week. Take a look at our what goes on page to find out more.

We are in the exciting phase of looking for someone to lead our church as we are currently without a Minister.

We continue to hold our Sunday morning services as normal and will be led by a variety of visiting speakers.

We look forward to welcoming you to our church.

History

The current building here at Broadway dates back to 1901 - upon opening, it was stated to be "the largest non-conformist building in Buckinghamshire, providing accommodation for 1 000 people". However, the origins of our church congregation go back to at least 1712, when the General Baptist Chapel was built on the Broadway.

Links & Mission

We are members of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and fall within the Central Baptist Association area.

As a church, we maintain strong links with missionaries working for BMS World Mission, and support a wide range of organisations working locally, regionally and internationally. We believe that this is an important part of living in the world as God calls us to, and puts into practice our principles "to love, to grow, to go".
