A church family

We believe the church is not so much a particular place or building, but rather a family of believers - committed to Jesus, to one another and to serving God in the world.

Who are Baptists?

As Baptists, we are part of the world-wide Christian church, along with other trinitarian Christian traditions such as Anglicans, Methodists, Reformed, etc.

Baptists are grass-roots people with a particular emphasis on the local church, but we join together to share and support. We are members of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and fall within the Central Baptist Association area.

Our team

Each local Baptist church appoints its own minister and selects deacons, who together form the leadership team. Find out more about our team.

Working together

We are delighted to host the Chesham Community Fridge, organised by The King’s Church, and are a part of Churches Together for Chesham.

As a church, we maintain strong links with BMS World Mission workers and support a wide range of organisations working locally, regionally and internationally.

Prayer

We believe that prayer is transformative. There are always people available to pray with you and for you - on Sundays and at other times. If you would like prayer please contact us, or speak to a steward on a Sunday morning.

Small groups

Small groups offer time and space for fellowship, bible study, prayer, encouragement and support. We have a number of small groups that meet together on a regular basis. Each one is different and they meet in a variety of places across Chesham.

How long have we been here?

Broadway Baptist Church has been at the heart of Chesham for well over 300 years. The current building dates back to 1901 but the origins go back to at least 1712, when the General Baptist Chapel was built on the Broadway.
